Your wedding has many movable parts, and we’re here to help you figure out how to wrangle all of the information into the right spots. This is a basic breakdown of each piece that typically goes into an invitation suite, and we encourage you to use the pieces that best fit your needs and make your suite unique to your wedding style.
The Main Invitation
WHAT IS IT?
Main invitations are the star of your suite
show. They’re the largest piece, with the most
important details: · Who
· When
· Where
· Dress Code
Typically included: a guest addressed and stamped envelope
WHAT SIZE IS IT?
Most often, it’s an A7 (5 inches across by 7 inches tall). Occasionally we'll do an extra large main invitation, an A9 (5.5 inches across by 8.5 inches tall).
The Details Card
WHAT IS IT?
This is your hard working support card. It exists so that your main invitation can stand alone with a clean, clear message. It typically lists all of your weekend events with associated times, locations, dress codes, and hosts.
· Welcome party · Recap of your ceremony · After party · Farewell brunch
We also encourage listing your wedding website on your details card. Think of this card as a one stop shop for all wedding information!
WHAT SIZE IS IT?
Most often, it’s an A6, which is 4x6 (4 inches across by 6 inches tall).
Have fun! We love to see this guy shine, so we suggest pushing the envelope a little here. Fun color? Funky border? Bold pattern? It makes a great statement.
The RSVP Card
WHAT IS IT?
This is what your invited guests will use to reply back to you regarding their attendance. It typically lists: · a reply-by date · guest name line (to be filled in by the guest) · RSVP area(s) for each wedding event.
It typically includes: a self addressed and stamped envelope
WHAT SIZE IS IT?
The card is a 4bar size (4.875 inches across by 3.5 inches tall).
Embellishments
ENVELOPE LINER
We love liners! An envelope liner is a thin piece of paper that is ahdered to the inside of your envelope. We love making this a fun color, or pattern.
EDGE PAINTING
A subtle, but powerful detail! A painted edge is the addition of color on the actual sides of the invitation. Once your invitation is printed, the paper is stacked and the edges of the paper are painted.
CUSTOM CUT
Have you ever seen an invitation that isn’t the standard rectangular shape? That’s because it was custom cut! Custom cuts add a fun flair, even to a traditional suite. Scalloped, wave, a circle - you got it!
RIBBON
Ribbon or some sort of wrap is a great way to hold all of your suite items together, or add another material.
BELLY BAND
A belly band is another way to hold all of your suite items together. It’s typically a thin piece of paper that wraps around your suite and adheres in the back. We love adding a monogram, or some sort of design to the band.
EXTRA EXTRA
Embellishments don’t have to stop here. We also offer custom gate folds, vellum wraps, wax seals, vintage postage and hand calligraphy. We always love doing something out of the box.
